On a recent visit to NYC we made a side trip to Ladder 8. Everyone that is a fan of Ghostbusters will recognize the famous exterior firehouse used in the film. The interior was shot at another firehouse in Los Angeles.
Upon arriving at the firehouse we were met by a very nice Firefighter that showed us around and let us take many pictures. We also noticed that an original sign face from Ghostbusters 2 was hanging on the wall. The story goes: the sign was damaged during production and the fingers broke near the top of the sign. The Lexan sign face was discarded and the firehouse occupant rescued the sign and hung it on the wall. True or not it’s an iconic piece of film history.
I would like to thank the firefighters of Ladder 8 for their hospitality and service.
